Valentines Dinners in Wenatchee Wine Country

Enjoy a gourmet dinner with your sweetheart at the following Wenatchee-area restaurants:

Chateau Cajun Grill (inside Chateau Faire le Pont Winery).  February 11 and February 14, 2 seatings 6 and 8 pm

Receive one lovely rose per couple. $45 without wine; $65 with wine per person plus tax and gratuity.

Starter course:  Sauteed scallopes atop a cauliflower and almond puree drizzled with a cider glaze and topped with crispy bacon. 

Salad:  fresh arugula, poached pear, candied walnuts and cranberries topped with Parmesan crisps, paired with 2010 Viognier

Entrees:  Filet medallions in a peppered dark chocolate cabernet reduction with fingerling potatoes and vegetable gratin, paired with 2007 Confluence, or Seared salmon drizzled with a peppered fennel and white cream sauce with wild rice and vegetable gratin, paired with 2008 Pinot Noir.

Desserts:  Dark chocolate cake w/mascarpone & chestnut Sorbet, or Cherry apple tart w/salted Caramel ice cream

 

At Tastebuds, at 5th and Mission Streets, their Valentine's Menu is $45 per person, with seatings at 5:30 and 7:30.   Reservations at 888-2783

Appetizers:  Choose from Ying & Yang chilled shrimp cocktail or Mediterranean Bruschetta

Soup/Salad:  Choose either Creme of Artichoke Hearts soup or Roasted Beet and Blue Cheese salad

Main Course:  choose either Braised Beef Gnocchi with Blue Cheese Cream Sauce or Pan Seared Salmon with Tarragon Beurre Blanc with Jasmine Rice and roasted broccolini

Dessert:  Choose either Dolce De Leche Cheesecake or Chocolate Souffle Cake with Espresso Whip Cream

At the Red Lion Hotel their Valentine's Menu is available Feb. 10-18 from 4 to 8 p.m.  Call 663-0349 for reservations. $49.95 per couple

Starters:  Choose either Crab & spinach fondue with grilled flat bread or Fried pork strips with hot mustard and plum BBQ sauce

Soup or Salad:  Smoked tomato soup with parmesan chip and basil dust or Grilled hearts of romaine salad with caesar dressing and anchovy oil

Entree:  Choose from Coffee crusted 12 oz. Rib eye with chocolate demi glaze, truffled mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus or Northwest Seafood Alfredo with prawns, crab, smoked salmon and fresh mussels

Dessert:  Red Velvet cake with coconut cream cheese frosting or Chocolate Mousse with Grand Marnier cream and cashew brittle. 

At Iwa Sushi on Valentine's Day, enjoy their lover's special, the "Sweetheart Roll".  Or have their lunch special, 2 specialty rolls for $19.95.  Sweet.

At Shati's, enjoy Pacific Coast pink crab tossed with caramelized sweet onions and red peppers, a little good mayo and farm eggs…butter-crisped in the oven and finished over bedded baby Rocket with Andalouse and sliced hot house tomato ;  choice of Washington grown Filet Mignon pan-seared with fresh Crimini mushrooms caramelized shallot, house-crafted Demi Glace and a touch of whole grain mustard or rustic Pecan Rolled Chicken Breast with artichoke hearts, sun kissed tomato, fresh rosemary, cream and Gorgonzola; dessert is Cordon Rose Cheese Cake. The Cottage Inn will offer a Valentine's special dinner of your choice of hand cut Tenderloin topped with crab, shrimp and Hollandaise and delicious sweet Crab Cakes with apricot sweet and sour (made from local apricots) and butter sauce. As well as an appetizer of large ocean prawns stuffed with apricots and bleu cheese, wrapped with prosciutto, grilled and brushed with molasses. Call 663-4435 for reservations.

Wenatchee Wine Week is March 19-24!

 We're celebrating all of our award-winning wines all week, with several wine events to choose from:

March 19:  Mad About Merlot on Monday:  The Grape, 2 "D" St., Quincy, 4-8 p.m. $2 per wine poured. Sample several Wenatchee Wine Country Merlot wines at this nice wine shop in Quincy.  These merlots are magnificent!

 March 21:  Sensational Syrah Night:  Tastebuds, 212 5th St., Wenatchee. $9 for tastes of 4 Wenatchee Wine Country Syrahs!  They're sensational!

 March 22:  "Wine 101" Seminar and "Food and Wine Pairing" Seminars at the Wenatchee Valley Museum and Cultural Center, 127 S. Mission St.  Join wine expert Barb Robertson as she explains and samples the history and characteristics of 6 different wine varietals made from Wenatchee Wine Country winemakers.  "Wine 101" is $15 per person, from 6-7 p.m. Barb is an internationally certifed wine professional with Wine and Spirit Education Trust, and co-owner of the Mission Street Bistro.  

 "Food & Wine Pairing" will also be taught by Barb from 7:15-8:15, and she explains how the tannins and acids of wines complements the food served, and visa versa.  Different wines will be served from the previous seminar with small plates of food from the Ivy Wild Inn.  $35 per person.

The price for both seminars will be $45 per person.

 March 23:  "Red Blend Tasting Night" at the Wine Thief, 1604 N. Wenatchee Ave.  $5 per person. Sample fabulous red blends from Wenatchee Wine Country wineries.  

 March 24:  March Madness Wine Walk in downtown Wenatchee, 1-5 p.m. Downtown merchants host Wenatchee Wine Country wineries.  $20 for 15 tastes of wine.   Tickets are sold at the event at  Davis Furniture, 125 S. Wenatchee Ave.

 Several Wenatchee-area restaurants plan dinner specials all week, with each course paired with Wenatchee Wine Country wines.

The Grape Wine Shop in Quincy: Sparkling Wine tasting

Wenatchee Wine Week is coming March 19-24!

Save the week for celebrating locally grown award-winning wines during Wenatchee Wine Week!  We have seminars for learning about wine tasting at Wine 101 and Wine & Food Pairing class on Thursday, March 22;  Mad About Merlot on Monday, March 19; Sensational Syrah night at Tastebuds on March 21,  a Red Blend tasting at the Wine Thief on Friday, March 23;  and the March Madness Wine Walk on March 24 in downtown Wenatchee. Local restuarants will also have great dinner specials with each course paired with matching wines!  More details are coming.  It's a great week for drinking locally produced wine!

Red Wine & Chocolate weekends in February

Love is in the air in Wenatchee Wine Country!  Two weekends in February will be "love"-ly for tasting award-winning red wines with chocolate treats in the tasting rooms.  February 10-12, and Febuary 17-19, from 12-5 p.m. (some wineries have extended tasting room hours). Sample Wenatchee Wine Country wines at the new tasting room at the Wenatchee Valley Visitor Bureau

Located at 4 S. Wenatchee Ave., the Wenatchee Valley Visitor Bureau is THE place to learn about fun things to do in Wenatchee!  Now they've added a wine tasting bar to let you sample local wines before going to the wineries' tasting rooms for more!  A great place to visit, with a friendly staff to welcome you to our town! Open 11-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday (closed Thanksgiving  and the Friday after). You can visit their website at www.wenatcheevalley.org.  Cheers!
